Who we are
Oystershell Limited ("Oystershell", "we") is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 03856081. Contact us about privacy at james@oystershell.co.uk.
What we collect
- Details you send through the contact form or by email: your name, company, email address, phone number and message.
- Business contact details of clients, suppliers and prospects we work with.
- Order and delivery details when you buy a product from us.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To provide services or products you have asked for: performance of a contract.
- To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation.
- To send occasional business updates to existing contacts: legitimate interest. You can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with providers who help us run the business, such as our email host (Zoho), our accountant and couriers, and only as much as they need. Messages sent through the contact form are delivered by Formspree, a service based in the United States. When data is handled outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses to protect it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after two years. Client and financial records are kept for six years after the end of the relevant financial year, as required by UK law.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how we use it, or ask us to limit its use. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
